In Hinduism, agarbatti is an integral part of most rituals. The name is derived from agarwood which is commonly used in incense production. India is one of the world's top incense producing countries. There are about 5,000 incense companies in India which take raw un-perfumed sticks hand-rolled by approximately 200,000 women working part-time at home, apply their own brand of perfume, and package the sticks for sale. An experienced home-worker can produce 4,000 raw sticks a day. And for the production of every stick of any variant it require round bamboo stick as a raw material and constitute approximately 60% of the total cost. Currently the all the manufacturers have to be dependant on imported bamboo stick from China & Vietnam.

Akhilesh Kumar from Nalanda after in-depth survey related to financial feasibility and successful change in one of machines, he decided to start manufacturing and marketing of Round Bamboo Sticks under the initiative make-in-India. Govt. of India had categorized the bamboo as grass to exempt bamboo based products from tax. This start-up will help not only to reduce foreign exchequer but also it will give an alternate solution to Indian Farmers of Bamboo cultivation apart from increasing employment opportunity. He has established a company named Raghavi Industries Pvt Ltd after getting incubation support from SABAGRIs, BAU, Sabour and started journey of his business with agarbatti industry with new technology and with new innovative machine.
